A few times a day, the screen on my al 15" 1.25 starts flickering as if it's trying to find the right brightness for the screen. It's pretty annoying. I reset the pmu, but it's still doing it. This is a recent development. Anyone else get this?

Mine did that once or twice then I went into System Preferences/Displays and turned off the Automatically Adjust Brightness as Ambient Light Changes and it hasn't happened since.

Using a 1.25/15" and I just started getting it after updating to 10.3.8. Seems like the sensitivity or the response time from the light sensors has been changed.

Anyone have a solution aside from just turning it off?

I had it flicker once today, but it was the first time - I've been on 10.3.8 since I got this unit, so I can't tell you if it's new or not.

Yes It is happening to my new al 15" too. I find that simply adjusting the brightness manually (a little up or down) whenever it starts flickering seems to settle it down:)

Overall I like this feature. But like many automatic options the feedback mechanism can lead to 'wandering'.

Yep. Mine started this just after installing 10.3.8 as well. And it does clear up if you mess with the brightness manually, like you said. I guess manually setting it overrides the auto function. Hope there's a fix soon.

Yep, I'm the same...had to turn off the automatic setting today, as it was annoying me.

I also noticed that I could slightly change the brightness level to prevent the flickering but I didn't like the amount of screen dimming in a darkened room so turning off the automatic setting fixed that as well as flickering problem.

Hmmm, I noticed my screen flickering as well (17" Rev A). I thought it was because the backlight was going out, but it sounds like it might be something to do with 10.3.8.

I also noticed it only does it at work under flourescent lights. I wonder if it's sensing the flicker that flourescent lights make?
