I have the latest 12'' iBook and I'm confirming that the trackpad hack works with it!

http://www-users.kawo2.rwth-aachen.de/~razzfazz/

The latest version also allows two fingers + click = right click.

The rotational scroll works if you use it w/o x/y scroll. Just place one finger in the corner and then rotate the other in small rotations. Make sure and remove the corner finger first so that the scrolled page doesn't jerk.

Please post which version of iBook you have and the results of trying this hack.

all good here on a month old ibook. glad i didn't try to install this manually last month (which probably would've done something dire, given my mac skills...)

If you have the latest package, you can reload the original by either launching the "load_original.command" if you loaded the modified file, or "install_original.command" if you installed the file. You can also just restart your computer if you loaded the file.

i understand that it'll only work on newer models, but if you're wondering if it'll work on yours there is a check on the website above that'll see if it will work or not. i think it was on the installer and will only install if it will work on your mac (though i may be making this up as i downloaded it when i was half asleep).

yeah, i can't work out how to configure this either - do you reckon you have to just reinstall it with different settings? i might email the guy who wrote it...

i've just installed it and the scrolling works great, but the two-finger click doesn't work unless i double click, and then it works like i've double click--expose goes out and back. how do i change the sensitivity?

Well, i couldn't get the two-finger click to work for me, and i was reading in the powerbook forum that some people were having the same problem. Looks like I'm back to sidetrack for now.

Is it working for anyone? If I double tap, hold and slide over to another expose window it works, but sometimes the trackpad isn't big enough. What am I doing wrong?

hey everyone,

i just got an email back from daniel becker, the guy who wrote iscroll2 - it looks like he's been updating this like a madman, the fifth version in four days

the system prefs pane is working now as well.

he says that there was a problem with the pref pane in 0.7 but he's just put up 0.8 which should have everything sorted. all good! cold aspiration, if you're still wondering how to uninstall it there is a section on the page explaining how:

> Right now, the easiest way would be to
> delete /System/Library/Extensions/iScroll2.kext
> and /Library/PreferencePanes/iScroll2.prefPane.

has the two-finger right click been working for everyone but me? I'm back to Sidetrack.

Anyone else have an opinion on which they find better. Sidetrack vs. scrolling track??

the two finger right click works fine on mine - could it be sidetrack interfering with it?

the latest update has more options for clicking, btw - you can set it to take a click on the trackpad as a right click, though you can't set it to recognise just a corner click as right click.
