what is the disk that comes with the laptop "osx 9" used for? and would ilife05 have come pre installed in the compuer? there is no cd in the box that would have the software for it i would have to install? thanx

Your new laptop would have come with two CDs. An OS 9 CD which you will need to use if you want to run any classic applictions and a software restore CD.
The laptop will have iLife 05 pre-loaded and this is part of the system restore CD. Try to avoid using OS 9 unless you find an application you just have to have that is not available in OS X.
