Hi,

I just checked my Pismo and underneath in the center (and slightly left) it is really hot.
I cant keep my hand there without it hurting.

This makes me wonder if that is much different to the new -05 Powerbooks out today that a lot of people complain about.

Can this really be the case that it is not very different?
I compared with the new G4 PB that I felt in the Apple store and even though I have only been surfing for the last hour my Pismo (no fan is on though) feels a lot hotter than the G4 PB I tried.

Any ideas?

Thanks

/Pete

my pismo got warm, but...
my 12" alubook revC gets a lot hotter (especially left of the trackpad);
no contest.

(still, am not trading back!)

I know what you're talking about. The new PowerBooks do get warm, but not unbearably hot unless you are doing something CPU intensive for a long period of time (i.e. Motion).

I dunno... my 15" 1.67 does get pretty hot even without doing serious CPU tasking applications. I never hear the fans; maybe that's why it's so quiet.

The extra heat is noticable over my old 1Gzh TI.

My 1.5Ghz 12" is a lot less 'hot' than a pismo and ti400 that I previously used. The others got uncomfortable to keep on my lap.
