I ordered a stock 17" Powerbook from a major Apple Dealer here in the U.K. on the 5th of February, which has yet to surface.

I rang the dealer last week to inquire and he has no idea when they will recieve the 17" Lapzilla.

I also rang Regent Street today and they have plenty in stock. Why is it that no
Apple dealer's bar Apple Regent Street have any between them?

I feel that Apple is using dirty underhand tactics as i am sure people will get fed up with waiting and buy direct.

Appleinsider published a report recently regarding similar problems faced by US Dealers.

I will not cancel my order on principle.

Same case with me. I ordered on a 15" with combo drive on the 7th of Feb and the estimated ETA was 4 weeks. A week later, I got in touch with the local Apple Center's supplier and was told there's a waiting list and the PB's will only start arriving in April. Considering, this was to be my main computer both at work and at home, I couldn't wait that long. So I cancelled the order and placed another to a Singapore supplier...ETA is first week of March, though it cost me $216 extra.
