I use Skype and iChat AV a lot, both for work and to call family. So today I bought a Plantronics bluetooth earpiece, to be untethered from my desk when making calls. (And as a bonus it works with my phone too.)
While it paired, and worked, perfectly with our 20" iMac G5 it refused to work with the 12" 1st gen PB. Something about the hardware not supporting earpieces. Damnit. I normally have iChat running on the PB, with me working on the iMac. Does anybody know if this has been fixed with later generation PBs?
What exactly was the point of that reply? I don't get why you'd bother to reply if it's something as hopeless as that.
It's not a bluetooth 2 headset is it? That's kind of the obvious reason for why it may not work. Other than that, can you download drivers? I'd assume if it works on the G5 you can make it work with your pbook, if not then later rev's must be compatible anyway.
What's new in Bluetooth 1.5?
Bluetooth 1.5 for Mac OS X provides support for Bluetooth enabled headsets which may be used with iChat AV 2.1 public beta or later
