Well,
I just got my powerbook back from repair from the Apple Retail Store. I noticed something weird, they added a new "profile" for my network settings using the modem. It connects to this 1800 number, with the user id: mac and I don't know the password. (It was already filled it)
When I tried to connect, it connects to the internet with a 1800 number!
What internet service is this? Some internal Apple repair center modem service or something?
Thanks again,
Paul

You should be able to change this in system preferences, under 'network.' My guess is that they needed to test out the modem for some reason, and forgot to undo the changes.

lol yeah! Free Internet!! There shouldn't be a problem using it, right? What service is this from (ISP?)
I might not use it for service because I already have my own dial up ISP, but since its a 1800 number, the calls should be free from the hotels?

The password may be saved in the keychain. You can check it in the Keychain Access utility.

Wow! Thanks for the suggestion, the password isn't there but I didn't know all the cool features of the Keychain Access utility! It shows all my passwords and you can even add a lock icon to the bar which lets you lock out the computer! sweet!
