an observation.
i live in manhattan; i see 3-to-6 networks on my airport list, get 3-to-4 bars on my 12" revC alubook.

a friend brought over her new G4 ibook last night. she got 4 bars consistently on my network, and in the airport list, NINE networks (including the coffee bar 5 floors down & across the street!) while i saw 3.

impressive (the ibook, that is)...not that i'd trade my pb!

Well, they are plastic....Radio waves like plastic (zip right through) METAL on the other hand....big insulator! I'm amazed they can make the airport reception as good as they do without an external antenna. There is always the QuikerTech (right?) external antennas for $70-$100 that hook outside your display
