Hello everyone

I have connected a 20" Aluminium Display to my 17" powerbook and it works great with the powerbook lid closed and using a wireless mouse and keyboard.

But when the lid is closed I cannot get on line i have a wireless connection am i missing something here?

Well i worked out the problem with the Airport Antenna's being in the lid when the lid is up its great and when the lid is down it is terrible.

If anyone has managed to overcome a similar problem could they let me know.

Regards - Zada.

Aiport antennae are notoriously directional. So they are easily blocked by close by metal objects. Check the "line of sight" between your PowerBook's antennae and the Airport Base-station in both positions -- open and closed. My guess is that when it is closed the antennae are blocked by nearby objects (e.g. a disk drive, radio, phone, etc.). Of course the blockage could be at either end or somewhere in between. It usually helps reception to have the Airport base station mounted high on a wall above desktop clutter so that the signal beams down on the PowerBooks etc.
