Quick question:
Would the Apple retail stores stock a PowerBook 15" 1.67 w/ 128MB Video option?
(Or do they only carry the 64MB video option?)

I hear that some stores carry a tricked out 15" to satisfy power users. I know it's called the "superfly" model in NYC. Call your local Apple store, that would be your best bet.

Yes Apple Retail Stores stock the ultimate or extreme 15" Powerbook, it comes with the 128mb vram video card, 100gb hard drive and 1 gb ram.

Not sure I need the 100GB hard disk, but if I can have it now (before an upcoming trip) it might be ok.
<smile>
Thanks ... I'll ask at my two local stores.

I stopped in the store ... they had one in stock as you mentioned. They wanted $2700.
HOWEVER: Unlike every other model they have in stock they won't allow me to use an educator discount on that model. I'm not sure why that model is different.
So ... I guess it's BTO for me anyway.
Patience grasshopper ...
(How long do these units take for delivery from order time?)

I order my 15" 1.67 Superdrive, 128 VRAM, 1GB, 100 GB on 26 Feb. It had a ship date of on/before 8 March. I have just recieved my shipping notice and it shipped from China today (3 March) and FedEx has a scheduled delivery by 10:30am on Monday 7 March.
