I just recently got a used PowerBook G4/867 12" running Panther. The battery is acting strangely. After a full charge, I take the Power cord out and it says that it is 99% charged with over two hours of charge remaining. After about a half an hour, the computer goes to sleep (in energy saver I have it set to never go to sleep) and when I plug it in again, it says 0% battery charge. I made sure battery update was installed, I calibrated the battery (though I couldn't really drain it fully because it would go to sleep), and reset the power manager. What else can I do?

Thanks!

best bet... try a new battery !
Luckily my Rev.A 12" hasn't started behaving like that yet but when my Vaio got to that stage it was a case of throw away the battery and get a new one.
You may be lucky if you can cycle the battery a couple of times (turn off Sleep in Preferences and run the PowerBook on battery until it's flat then with it turned off charge it up to full again and repeat) but I suspect that, especially with a 2nd hand one of unknown condition, you're better off spending the $ and getting a top notch high capacity 3rd party solution
(and no, I don't sell batteries !)

In most areas it's illegal to throw away any rechargeable battery. You can take rechargeable batteries to your local Radio Shack and they will recycle them.
