Before I was a PB owner- i remember seeing products like a dock that had all kinds of devices plugged in and when you came in- you could just plug your laptop into it. Do they still have such an animal? Ideally, I'd like to have all my peripherals setup and waiting. I searched, but since I don't know what I am looking for- I can't find anything...

BookEndz makes one:

But at $264 it's quite pricey. Personally I've found that a simple powered USB hub works just as well. Only Firewire thing I've got is my iPod and I rarely hook that up. Everything else I've got is USB.

I have one of the Bookendz for my powerbook, and I love it. I have an external monitor, keyboard, mouse, and my other USB peripherals attached to it. I got mine with the powerbook (used on eBay), so I don't know if I'd spend that kind of money for a new one.

Thanks all.
I'm seeing it selling for $198 at Clubmac.
Anyone else have one and like or dislike it?

I remember the issue of docking stations coming up before. I personally don't really think they're a great idea as they're not really a true docking station (the powerbook just wasn't designed for one).
tooki and others explained it better in this_thread
I personally would use the money for a couple hubs or something to that nature. Not meaning to rain on anyone's parade, just offering my 2 cents.

not exactly a dock, but i was looking into getting a kvm so that i could use my peripherals that are usually hooked up to my PC. youve still got to plug stuff in, but its only 1 usb (keyboard/mouse) and vga adapter (plus audio if you want/get a kvm with that option)
