I've seen the new 1.67 GHz 15" and 17" Powerbooks in several Apple Stores and I've noticed that the 15" display seems to be brighter than the 17" display. I've compared them directly with the same backgrounds and web pages both with their brightness settings at the highest level. Has anyone else noticed this?

Just the 1.67GHz 15"ers vs. 1.67GHz 17"ers... did you check out the 1.5GHz 15"ers?

BTW, I'll check tomorrow...
Mmm that Apple was yummy. :)

yes I have noticed this as well. In fact, I also put the same backgrounds up, calibrated the color to the same settings, and cranked up the brightness all the way... and still was much more pleased with the 15" screen. Some users had attributed this to such a large viewing area, and difficulty maintaining a good viewing angle. I'm not so sure about that, but I do notice a difference.

I do know that macfixit (http://www.macfixit.com/article.php?...50208003927376) had reported that newer models (1.5GHz+) had reports of brighter screens.
