Hello!

I'm wanting to upgrade the memory in my PB 15". At present it has two 256 sticks, what I was wanted to know is can i mix and match... like take one 256 out and stick a 1gb in or do I need to keep them in equal pairs?

only the powermac requires paired sticks of ram -- which I find slightly annoying

Well, with good reason, dual channel memory. With dual channel memory, the kernel sees the two sticks as one large memory block, increasing performance.

The PowerBook will also use dual channel if you have two matched sticks, but also will fall back to regular with anything else.
