First of all, hello and thanks for being such a great resource...I just swtiched to Mac thanks to a lot of info I got on these forums and I am thrilled!

I was hoping some of you might be able to help with an interesting problem...

I've got a pair of Harmon Kardon Soundticks. When I plug my new Rev. D. 17" into them, they won't play sounds or music (iTunes). I can hear some lower frequencies at a very soft volume. When I max out the EQ and volume settings on the PB I can hear-very faintly-some of the sound that the Mac is playing at all frequencies. I've got the knob on the sub turned all the way up.

I've plugged two other models of speakers into the PB and they work without a problem.

Am I missing a volume knob or something on the soundsticks? Is my Mac allergic to them?

Any help is appreciated.

Asking the obvious: have you plugged in the speakers? They must require external power for their amplifiers. I don't own them, but it only makes sense.

Yes, they're plugged in...I've got the fancypants purple light in the middle of the sub. You can see it because of the cool postmodern clear enclosure.

Hi -

I have the Soundsticks II.

You might need to adjust the volume on the "touch sensor" volume button. Sorry, I don't know what else to call it.

It's on the right speaker - at the bottom you'll see a chrome colored - and + symbol.

The knob on the sub only turns up the sub.

And it also took me a few minutes to find the volume button - it's not all that obvious where it is (unless you read the instructions I guess, which I did not).

Wow.

I admit to feeling a bit dumb...but you were exactly, 100% right.

Thanks so much!

Now I can get back to loving this Mac!
