I tried to reinstall my software that came with my PB rev c SD using the "erase and install" but I don't see my idvd application anymore! Am I missing something?
I appreciate your time regarding my problem!

Yup, you're missing the "install applications" step of a restore. (The Mac OS X installer doesn't install all the bundled software.) Put the DVD labelled "applications" or "software restore" in and it should be obvious from there.

Hello Administrator,
Thank you for your help but I am really naive about this because I don't see the " install application" when I ran it.

To install the extra software you actually need a seperate disc. It should be included with the rest of the discs that came with your Powerbook.
If you put this into your Powerbook, a CD will come up on your desktop. You can then install the extra software from there.
Good luck!

With some models, it's a separate disc, while on others, it's on a unified install/restore DVD.
If it came with GarageBand, though, it's on a second or third disc.

If you put in either of the Restore DVD's you will not be able to see the 'hidden' applications like iDVD and Garageband from inside OS X, since Apple hides them so that so cannot install them seperately.
However, if you use a program caled D.B. Cooper http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/22961
it will allow you to access the 'hidden' files on the discs, including the iDVD and Garageband installation files. This means that you do not have to install all the bundled software you want to use in the future at the time of the restore.
Regards

Totally unnecessary, the restore app already lets you choose what you want.

I thank you to all of your output. Its correct that the instruction given by apple is misleading. The instruction says that if you only need the Mac OS X you should only install it, unfortunately, the iDVD and and garageBand are NOT really in the OS X icon( stated on the manual page61). I was so frustrated that I clicked the application and Mac OS 9 icon( I am sure that you will only click on this if you need the OS 9 as stated on their support and booklet again)and Bingo they were there! iDVD and garageband!
