According to appleinsider, apple may be <gasp> developing a 2-button mouse. If so, a 2-button powerbook doesn't seem impossible. Would you buy a new PB just to get a 2nd button on the trackpad?

Yes. Without hesitation.
But what i would like even more is to get a coloured apple logo back. This would be really worth the money for a new pb .

Lol lol lol lol (cannot stop laughing! thank you for this one :o)

No. I have Sidetrack so I already have right-click functions.

No, and I would purposely buy the last revision with a single button. On a laptop I see the single button as an advantage. If I want/need more than one button I can hook up a mouse...

I think the biggest advantage to a one-button trackpad is being able to use it with your right and left hand interchangeably (spelling?). Even though I'm right-handed, I sometimes use my trackpad with my left hand. But, Apple could easily put two buttons on there and then just have the option to make them both have the same action. In effect it would just be one button as both buttons would do the same thing.
