Hi,

I need to work with people in the room sleeping. How do I turn off
the modem dailing sound on a lombard running 9.2.1. Thanks

Does muting the speaker volume turn off the modem sound?

Yup...just mute it and you should be fine. If your using AOL then there's an option in the setup section where you could actually have the whole computer mute everytime you dial off your modem.

In the modem tab under Network preferences, there are buttons for turning the sound off for the modem. Simple as that.

They're actually in Apple Menu --> Control panels --> Modem in OS 9.2.1, as specified in the original post.
