Hi there,

Recently both my USB ports have been playing up on my powerbook. Most of the time they do not work at all, although if I reboot sometimes I can get my printer going for a time. Anyone have any ideas or diagnostic utilities I can try?

First, run the hardware test DVD that came with your machine. If it fails that test, you need it fixed.

If that does not detect a problem, Apple service would have you do a archive and reinstall, see if the ports fail with a fresh OS installed.
