Here's the scenerio... I turn on Airport and connect to my D-Link 614+ access point. First time give me an error, second time makes connection. I then close the lid to my Powerbook, wait a few seconds, open it up again. The airport connection is lost and doesn't automatically connect (which is set to do) when I go to click the Airport icon on the upper right I get the colored Beach ball. The only way to get rid of it is to reboot the Powerbook.

Funny thing is.. I have a 12" powerbook that has no problems at all with the airport connection coming from sleep mode. Both are running Panther 10.3.8

Any thoughts?
Thanks,
George-

This is likely a software problem. Here's how to prove it:

boot the working machine into target disk mode by holding down the T key after the chime. Connect it via firewire to the other machine. Reboot the non-working machine and hold down the option key. Two icons will show up--on the internal hard drive, and one the hard drive of the other laptop. Select the other laptop and then click the right arrow. When the machine is booted, try to do the same thing again. If you have problems, it's machine related. If you don't have problems, it's software.
