My 15" PB was running fine...until yesterday.
I left my office, closed the Book, and went to a meeting. I reopened the Book, and all appeared well. I tried to open a file and got the black screen of death. I restarted, and got the same screen during the restart.
This morning, I tried again. Nope. I ran Diskwarrior via firewire target mode, and no problems were found.
I copied my files via firewire target, then erased the disk using Disk Utility. I then ran Diskwarrior one more time before attempting to reinstall Panther.
The problem. Panther hangs with the black screen of death. I get as far as the installer checking 100% of the disk, but when it starts to read and install "BSD"...bang, black screen.
Hard drive issue? RAM issue? (The RAM was upgraded months ago with Crucial sticks...usually fine stuff.) Should I take the time to zero all data, would that help?
I am at a loss, and would clearly like to remedy this myself, but fear a trip to the Tech may be in order.
Suggestions?????
