hello everyone,

first of all, I am from holland so, Im sorry for my bad writing.
second of all, I am new with this forum thing, so get ready for some stupid questions.

I have been using a g4 quiksilver to create and record music for a few years now and I am totally happy with it.
now I also want to buy a powerbook, a really powerfull one because I am gonna use it as a portoble studio with protools, logic, and reason and lots and LOTS!! of plugins.
the newest powerbooks stil have a g4 processor in them, but the new desktops al have a g5.
does anyone know anything about when apple is gonne put the g5 in to a powerbook?

thanks

pelthor.

Only Steve Jobs and he's not talking.
When the G5 iMac was first released, there was a lot of talk about an impending release of a G5 powerbook. Apple quickly doused that with cold water stating that there will be no G5 powerbook in the foreseeable future.

I think your in the majority in that your wanting a G5 powerbook but so far nobody truly knows when.

Oh, not again. This has been discussed ad nauseum. Do a search of the forum for "G5 Powerbook." You'll get plenty of hits. But here's a quick list of "why the hell not":

1) Heat and related to it...
2) Power

Everything else branches from this including battery life. There is no currently available G5 chip for portables. Keeping them cool and making them use an acceptable level of power to provide decent battery life is just not possible yet. Please do a search. We don't need another thread about this.
