A little bit of ice cream got into the lower left crack of the trackpad button and now it clicks funny .

I want to open it up and clean it out so it will click normally again, but I don't want to mess anything else up .

As you can imagine, I am no longer eating in the same room as my laptop.
I'm sorry to hear that. I NEVER eat, drink, or do anything other than surf the internet or homework near my preciousssssss.

Hey man,

I had an accident just like yours, but with tea... Anyways I was able to clean up most of it, but i'm having the same trackpad clicking problem as you. Have you found a solution? I was contemplating going to the Apple store since I'm still under my 90 days warranty.

My solution: I use my external mouse . I'm just using the right part of the trackpad instead. If I send it in to get fixed, they'll probably see ice cream residue and deny me lol.

Just for future reference, you should immediately turn the powerbook upside down if you spill anything on it, then turn it off. This will stop fluids from reaching the logic board and other really delicate parts. Most people leave it upright, which allows all of the liquids to seep itn.
Powerbook Repair Shop: G4 parts and repairs at very reasonable prices.

You get a year warranty, not 90 days, but accidental damage isn't covered under warranty under any circumstances. For that you need accidental damage insurance like SafeWare.
