i know this has probably been beaten to death but i searched and couldnt find it.
i insert cd into combo drive of g3 900 ibook. and no dice. it spins and you can hear the lens and such moving but it wont show up on the desktop.i cant even eject the drive. i have to manually eject it.
any thoughts?
Sounds like it could well be. I would insert OS X's install disc, restart holding the c key and see if you can boot off the disc. If you can't that's a great indication that the drive is dysfunctional.
