Hey all--

I'm in Baghdad right now, and the TVs here might be weird -- weirder than just a PAL format, I suppose. Anyway, I have a 15-in. 1.67GHz I bought in America a couple of months ago and the DVI-Video adapter. But when I attach it to a television using the yellow RCA plug, the television screen just shows gray garbage. Like the screen is rolling, with no color and I can't see anything. If I mirror the displays, I can't see anything on either screen. (The Powerbook just goes to a blue screen.)

Is there some setting I've got wrong on the PowerBook or is an American computer just not compatible with an overseas television? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm dying to watch some movies and videos on my PowerBook on the big TV in the living room!

best,
chris

On the 15" PowerBook, you should not use the DVI-Video adapter, but rather the built-in S-video port. You can use the S-video to Composite adapter that came with the PowerBook if you need to.
