Apple Japan recently a week or so ago launched iBook Memory Upgrade campaign on their Apple Store and you get discount when you upgrade memory from standard 256MB. It started from March 15 and runs through May 23rd.

So, I have this doubt and a question: Does the campaign imply the speculated new iBook will not be available until mid-May?

Please do not misunderstand me. I have been waiting for the new iBook to come out anytime soon and I really feel I can't any longer and still am full of hope of the new one in April.
But, at the same time, I can't believe Apple Japan marketing people are so stupid enough to run a campaingn through mid-May for a product that will be replaced in April.
I don't know if a similar campaign is taking place at Apple US or elsewhere, but what do you think?

Maybe;
- Simply No new iBook until Mid-May? and if this is the case;
- Spec. change is so small (no standard memory increase?) that the campaingn will continue to apply to the new iBook even if the product will be replaced in April?
- Or completely new design iBook will surface taking a little more than normal development cycle in mid-May?

I don't think it'll be any more than a minor update, but I do think that the iBook could have its update pushed back to May if the whole iMac update rumour is true. I doubt Apple wants to have an update cascade in which four lineups are revised in one month (PowerMac, iMac, eMac, iBook), which is pretty much what will happen if Apple wants to update the iMac.
