Toshiba apparently has come up with a new battery based on Li-ion technology that can take an 80% charge in just 1 minute. A full charge is just a few minutes more. And what's more- they claim that the battery only loses 1% of its capacity after 1000 charge cycles.

Not bad... with a battery that lasts this long the whole "iPod battery scandal" might be a thing of the past... and how convenient would it be to completely charge up your PB in like 5-10 minutes? Wow.

this is exciting!

I wonder how soon this technology will trickle down to replacement batteries for older powerbooks etc.
