I have an HD capable TV and was watching the Incredibles using the video-out capabilities of the PB. The quality was nowhere near as good as if I had played the DVD through a standalone (cheap) DVD player. I was using it at 1024X768.

Is there a different configuration I should use that would help?

Are you using composite or s-video? You should use s-video. Other than that, there's not much else you can do unless your TV has a DVI input. Use that if you can.

You can get adpaters to go from DVI to component video. I have one for my theatre system.

composite -> s-video -> component video -> DVI

that's the order of quality.

What is the difference between "composite" and "component video" ?

Composite usually has RCA (yellow white and red) or BNC connectors. Component has three cable for video instead of one with composite. It has red, green + sync, and blue.
