Hey everyone.

I just recently upgraded my ram today, and in doing so, I damage the keyboard locking screw. The actual clear screw itself came off, so there's an awkward hole where the screw used to be in.

Is a replacement screw for the keyboard available for purchase? Or could something like that be easily replaced/fixed under Apple's warranty?

Thanks guys.

Try doing a google search for iBook replacement keyboard, you might find a better deal than the link I posted.

Thanks for the link. Although I didn't find what I needed there, it's a good link just in case I do need some sort of replacement for my iBook.

The link you gave me took me to a replacement for the whole keyboard. Fortunately, it wasn't that drastic. I'm only missing the screw shown in the picture below.

What I found insane was coming across a 3 screw replacement which cost $30! Wow, they must be special screws.

Apple doesn't sell keyboard parts, just whole keyboards. When you buy individual parts, it's from vendors who buy them and part them out at huge markup.

I suggest you live with the hole.

Surely there must be some ordinary cheap screw of a size that will fit the hole somewhere that will do the job!
