I recently traded my Mini for an iBook and am wondering if I could use the old 256 from the Mini, in the iBook, despite the iBook being PC2100? Is there a difference between laptop and desktop ram, sorry I don't have much laptop experience at all (this is my first one).

I don't think the ram on the mini would work on the iBook.

From what I've read, the Mac Mini uses 184-pin DIMM ram, while iBooks uses 200-pin SODIMM ram.

No.

Notebooks use special minature-size RAM, called SO-DIMM. Normal desktop RAM is known as a DIMM. The mini's RAM is a regular DIMM and wouldn't fit in the iBook.

i would check newegg.com. i purchased a 512mb stick for $60 shipped. but if you only want an extra 256mb upgrade, it's about $25-30

That is a very nice and small animated gif though. Maybe it's time to change that rule.
Those smilies are animated

change that rule and see what happens...people would make obnoxious sigs all day long just to annoy other members
