Hi,

I've gotten some good deals before, but i'm not up to date these days.

A friend of mine is willing to sell his powerbook to me for $1000.

It is a 15" 1.33ghz Combo Drive Airport Extreme 60gb Model.

Do you think it is worth it?

Thanks!

Are you kidding? Of course it's worth it. What kind of shape is it in?

Hi,

It's actually in great shape. The screen is beautiful, and there are no major dings or scratches. No wear on the trackpad either.

I just don't know because I have my 12". But the screen is beautiful!!

Advice?

Hi,

I think I've decided to get it. It will probably mean selling my 12". While I am sad that i am losing the superdrive, probably better airport range and battery life, and super portability, I think the quality of the screen is too much to pass up. I'm actually surprised as to the weight of the machine.

I'll let everyone know how it turns out. Any suggestions.

You'll probably get more for yours than you're paying for his.

Seriously, he should have looked around, for he could have gotten a lot more $$$. However, the $$$ isn't always important.

Really?

I know that apple doesn't make these anymore, so I wasn't too sure of how much it was worth.

I'll start scoping out the worth of my 12". I'm missing it already. The only thing that I notice with the 15" is a slight dent that looks like it was made by a pen point or something. It's virtually impossible to tell, but as crazy as I am I found it. I have to hold it up to certain lighting. Pretty pathetic huh?

Since the consensus is that it is worth the $1000, i will go for it. Time to play with it for a bit.
