I just got my ibook the other day as a present from my dad. It is "brand new" he says but he always finds ways to get deals on things and i think that this was a used computer but only for like a day. The computer has someone elses name on it under the account and i was able to set up a new account but the administrator account is someone elses. I was wondering if there is a way to change it so it is mine.

Your best off doing a clean install. This good deal came with the system disks, didn't it? If not, your dad got taken.

yeah man, go for it - should be a piece of cake, and will guarantee that there won't be any other little things that the previous owner might have personalised. lots of people seem to reinstall from scratch even when they get a mac straight from the factory as there's lots of junk like unneeded printer drivers and langauge support.
