Hey everyone, I have a 12" 800 g4. So i've had this great machine for over a year now and convinced my cousin and brother to hop on the mac bandwagon as well. My brother recently got his brand new ibook and he loves it. after using his, i realized that my ibook's keyboard has become very.. loud. and squishy, and vibrations are frequent. So here is my solution. I take out the keyboard and place put those 3x5 notecards under the keyboard and then replace the keyboard. I have cut those notecards in quarters and am using it like that. Do you guys think this is safe? or will the paper burn in the heat of the ibook or cause heat . ?

thanks.

oh right now, i already did it, and the keyboard feels infinitely better! very very solid and the trackpad button click doesn't make vibration sounds anymore. feels almost knew. keyboard is silent as well.

Since iBooks are designed to vent heat up through the keyboard, I'm not so sure this is a good idea. You may experience overheating problems.

the notecard pieces only take up the top row of buttons . plus I just ran the first test. 2hours30min dvd on the bed and heat at about 130 when i checked with temperature monitor. plust a dvd rip right afterwards and temp remained. i think it will be alright.
