Hi there,

I finnaly got my iBook back after almost 2 months. They changed the logic board. The problem is that when I go to About This Mac or ASP, the on-board memory doesn't seem to be recognized.

Has anyone experienced this after a logic board replacement (I don't see the serial number anymore, but this is a known thing after a logic board replacement). What about the on-board memory? It seems to be recognized randomly... do I have to go back to the Apple store and ask them to replace the logic board again???

Btw, the other issue (crackled sound when doing audio chats with iChat) is NOT fixed. I am really pissed by Apple

That sounds like a bad board. Run AHT (AppleHardware Test). It came with your iBook. I wonder if it will fail. If so, do the old..."Man I just got this thing back....and Im sure you can understand that I'm pretty scared to save anything to it cuz it keeps breaking down.....I don't feel confident in the computer anymore." And then do not say anything else.....make them say...how could we help then. Then reply. I don't know, I just know that I cant use this computer anymore...would you?...works like a charm. Aloha.

It's normal not to see the serial number anymore.

As for the RAM, could it be the RAM went bad? Everything else worked?

I hope it doesn't take them another 2 months.
