I am an American living in Japan and I bought an Ibook last year and would like to get Applecare but Apple Japan charges about $300 for it. So I was thinking that I would buy an Applecare Ibook from the states. Is this Ok? Can I register it here in Japan? or will I have to use an American address? Any experience?
Thanks

You should buy it where you live. So if you live _mostly_ in US, you should get the US Apple Care.
If you go to a physical Apple Store in Japan, you will be sold the Japanese Apple Care. However, if you call Apple Care (Japan) and you buy it on phone - if your credit card is issued in US, you should be getting the US version (US price).

Applecare will work any place. Get the best deal if you can.

It doesn't matter too much which one you get. AppleCare for portables is valid worldwide.
