Well, I have had this new 15 inch powerbook for 3 days now. It has 3 dead pixels. I called applecare, and they said it would need to have more dead pixels to be replaced. I called the apple store where I bought it and they said to bring it in for an applegeek to "evaluate it". I was hoping for a even swap. If it were one or even two dead pixels, I could maybe live with it, but 3, and all in the middle of the screen is too much.
Has anyone had any experience with returning a system with dead pixels right out of the box to the apple store? I will be taking it for an evaluation tomorrow and was wondering what to expect.
Thanks

Ok, since no one has replied, I figured I would relate my experience to help users in the future. I took the powerbook to the apple store and signed up to talk to an apple genius. After checking the screen he went to talk to the manager. They agreed to make an even swap for me! This is a wonderful example of putting the customer fist, and great customer service. What type of impression would it make on a recent windows switcher to tell them they had to live with three black dots in the middle of there screen. They treated me farly and with respect. Honestly, if the pixels had not been right in the middle of the screen, I would have been ok with it. I hope this helps some one in the future who might have the same issue.

jimbosyn, great news. My old 1Ghz 12in did not have any dead pixels. As you may have read in the post "Big Problems with 12 Incher" Apple is replacing my 1Ghz with a brand new 1.5, I just hope it does not have dead pixels also. If it does I hope it is not 3 in a row.
That is a good reason to buy your Powerbook in a Apple Store. If there is a problem you have 1 place close to take it.

Yes and No.
Many of the apple stores work on desktop but just send your laptop away to get it fixed.
I think every apple store would be different.

They do. You can get a student discount at any Apple retail store, or from the Apple store on the web.
