Based on the experiences of users on this board and other boards this ram will work fine. The rebate is only valid for today so take advantage while you can. Most of the time you can't get a 1 gig so-dimm stick for less then $140.

The warranty from Kingston as stated HERE
is that its lifetime.

If the case that the ram does not work in your computer you can just return it to Outpost but you have to foot the bill for return shipping and you don't get refunded the shipping that you paid for the ram orginally.

I've seen numerous people using this excat ram in their PB's on alot of different forums and they don't have issues. I would buy one for myself but the CA tax is killer.

Too bad I can't benefit from this deal. After the package crosses the border into the Netherlands/Europe, I'll need to pay additional taxes of 19%

Dilemma:

Should I get this one:

http://shop1.outpost.com/product/4389075

(The one mentioned in the title of this thread)

Or this one:

http://shop1.outpost.com/product/3954438

I have heard good things about the Patriot RAM (and it seems to be highly recommended). The other Kingston one does not appear to be the memory that the Kingston Web site recommends for the Powerbook when you use their Memory finder...

I want to order today and have it by tomorrow.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Kingston RAM is A-ok. I had a bad experience with Kingmax, but Kingston's alright. Just make sure it's a PC2700 SO-DIMM.

Can't beat that deal can you. I'm glad someone was able to take advantage of it. I really wanted to get it but I was just turned off by the tax. I'm stuck at 768mbs for the mean time.

I wussed out and went with the Patriot RAM. I couldn't even find that Kingston item number on their web site, and I noticed Outpost/Frys had another 1GB stick from Kingston that cost $199. That gave me the willies, so I went with the Patriot RAM...

Should arrive today!

Kingston RAM os OK. Am using theis 512 sticks in a PB without a hitch. On the rebate, however, get the forms is QUICK. I bought their 512 stick with a Circuit City $20 rebate. Sent in the forms and waited. Afetr about a month I got a letter form them stating that they had exeeded their rebate funds and I was pretty much SOL.

I paid $169 for it, and so far it seems to be working just fine. I will run the hardware test in a few minutes (I forgot to do it earlier). I just decided I trusted the Patriot RAM better. As I said in an earlier post, I saw that Outpost also had a stick of Kingston 1GB listed for $199, and this made me think that there was something odd about it. I think I am just being paranoid, but I am OK with what I did.

Thanks,
Jeff

outpost does that often. my friend ended up picking up a x800 for 250 or so off outpost a few months ago. there was some kind of glitch in their system.

Will this PC2700 ram work in my 12 inch revB? I checked the spec on apple's website, it says it's PC2100, not sure if PC2700 will work....

Umm.. if you filed the right paperwork within the right timeframe, I don't think that it's legal to tell you that they overspent their funds. I'd go to Circuit City and raise hell!

Hey all. I posted on the big ram thread but I figure i post here as well since it pertains to the kingston ram.

I ordered my ram last week, when I saw this thread, but I forgot to save the rebate form, and now, I see that its been pulled. Does anyone have it saved? Can you please email it to agblue@gmail.com. Thanks.

Edit: I have it now, thanks!

Thanks for the heads up... this is too good to pass up I know this won't be a problem, but I already have a generic 1GB RAM chip from the original Outpost deal way back when... Having two third party chips won't cause a problem will it?
