i swear i've been researching this like crazy.

the search engine here seems buggy tho since the new format... ??

so...

i need to get a 17" lcd monitor for my rev C 12" alubook.
i want to NOT spend a lot (between 200-$300), and clarity is important.

recommendations (please) !

you can get a 19" for about $300, see Dell 1905FP

i don't believe it is going for that amount ATM, but its been at that price point a few times in the past few weeks

thanks!

here's a question:

since i've always had powerbooks and this is my first external monitor...

is there a reason to go for dvi over a vga input?
or is this not as important as other specs?

what about the Samsung 172x. Ultra slim bezel, matches the powerbook, and is only $214 after rebates! (this model was fairly pricey less than a year ago - in the $500 range IIRC.

product link

Make sure to get the rebates (listed next to the price) too!

DVI is certainly superior... I just read an article about it the other day. Recently VGA has improved, but DVI is still better, and DVI panels don't sell for too much of a premium.

This isn't the Peripherals forum! The PowerBook forum is for discussing PowerBooks themselves.
