I just got Toast Titanium yesterday, and found that I could not burn multisessions on my Memorex DVD+R discs nor on Memorex DVD+RW, but I COULD do it on CDs (I think they are TDK). Before I begin trying different brands of DVD, can anyone tell me for sure whether my setup (Matshita superdrive, Powerbook 12", Toast Titanium) is even capable of doing this?
Thanks very much for your responses -
Lance

Under Advanced Recorder Settings in Toast, are you sure you've selected Write Session? What is your indication that this is not working? Maybe it's not possible to write multisession DVDs at all, only CDs. I've never tried, so I don't know.

I didn't see that exact option, and I definitely searched through all of the settings. I'll look again for it, although the fact that I *was* able to multisession with a CD but not with a DVD makes me think that that's not the right direction.
The indication that it's not working is that when a CD is inserted, there's a checkbox that says "close disc", and I can check it or uncheck it. When it's checked, it means "don't allow any more sessions to be burned after this one". When a DVD is inserted, that checkbox is greyed out, with the check in it, meaning that it won't let me leave the disc open to further sessions.
Also, I regularly and easily did multisessions with my former setup: a dell laptop with external burner.
Thanks for the ideas - I'll certainly look one more time (probably 100 more times!) for that Write Session you mentioned.

What version of Toast are you running? Go to the Recorder menu and select Recorder Settings. Click on the Advanced "tab." There should be two radio buttons there: Write Session and Write Once. This is Toast 6.0.9.

Mine's 6 point something - I'll check it out this evening when I get home & reply as soon as I find out - thanks again.

I thought it wasn't possible to write multi-session DVD-R at all, since the format does not support this?

I was wanting to do this the other day as well, but couldn't do it through Disk Utility. I did a search online and found that there is no way to do this at the moment. I think it said there was no standard so it was not implemented anywhere, but that alone shouldn't really stop it. You can make multi-session CDs on a Mac that PCs won't even recognise as CDs, let alone read properly!

I'm going to try it again on my PC just to make sure I'm not going crazy. I'm sure that I used to do this all the time. Whenever I'd take a new batch of pictures, I'd just burn them onto the same DVD, making sure to leave it open each time.
Also, Analogika, I'm using DVD+R, not DVD-R; I have no idea whether it would make a difference.
Sorry for the wild goose chase, everyone - I'll repost after I try it again with a PC.
