I'm having a really weird probleem with the screen of my PB 12" G4/867. After powering up the screen is normal for about 5 seconds after which it dims to almost black. I can barely see what's on the screen but that's it.
I've tried diskwarrior, disk utility and trashing various preferences, but to no avail.

Anyone here any idea?

Start up the computer with the system DVD in your computer and hold down the option key after the chime. Choose the hardware test partition, and I would say if your computer still does the same thing with the screen, it's not software but the screen itself.

Try zappinf the pram by holding command-option-p-r as you startup. Also, try a pmu reset by pressing shift-ctrl-option-power, then starting up.
