well, im not sure if this belongs here, but im having some problems with expose on my new 15" pb. when i press f9 or f10, this rectangular box shows up, but the windows do not move like they should. f11 works perfectly fine, but f9 and f10 dont. i have a screen shot but its a .pdf file and i dont have anything as of yet to change it into a .jpg so that i can host it. anyone know whats wrong?

i'll try to describe what the pop up looks like. its see through, and there is a row of dark squares on the bottom. above that are oval looking shapes arranged in a semi-circle.

thanks.

Do you have a PowerBook with the backlit keyboard? If so, you are pressing the keys that change the brightness of the backlighting.

What you have to do on your PowerBook is hold the FUNCTION (fn) key and then press the Expose keys.

Hope that helps!

2 things.

1. like union said, on a 15 or 17" powerbook the f8, f9, and f10 keys are used for the keyboard backlight. hold fn to use those keys as regular function keys. or go into your system preferences > keyboard and choose "use the f1 - f12 keys for custom actions." this will cause you to have to hold fn and then press a function key to use the backlight or volume or brightness.

2. to convert a .pdf into a .jpg (or other). open it in preview and then file > export and choose the new extension.

another option, when sidetrack gets updated which seems to be soon, is to use sidetrack to define trackpad corners to expose shortcuts...
