i tried to run the firmware update and got this error message instead.

This Bluetooth device is not supported.
This computer does not have an Apple Bluetooth module installed. It cannot be updated by this application.

however, i can verify that my bt module is indeed working. it passed the apple hardware test, i've synced my phone through it and i'm using a MacMice bt mouse too.

Can anyone pls advise? I'm on a 12" rev D. Thanks in advance.

You have the latest machine so why would it need an old firmware update? It's probably already up to date.

i'm not too sure about that though...is there any place i can check the current firmware version? and besides, i'm also concerned that the updater is reporting that i do not have a bt module installed when i clearly have it.

The Apple support page describes the updater:

http://www.apple.com/support/downloa...updater12.html

and has a date of 11/23/04, way before your machine was released. If you have a Bluetooth preferences pane in your system preferences and you can see the Bluetooth module listed under USB in System Profiler, you have nothing to worry about.

I saw the Bluetooth firmware updater in software update after installing the bluetooth upgrade in my mini. I almost thought about running the updater but had a closer look and saw it was dated November 2004.

I wish Apple would have a better way of triggering this download as the Bluetooth firmware updater takes a long time and I've read many reports of people killing their bluetooth modules while running the updater.
