Hi guys,
My 12" powerbook (rev b) suddenly stopped working this morning. During the normal boot sequence, the grey apple logo turned into a stop sign (circle with a diagonal line in the middle). This happened a couple of times over the past week, and I managed to solve it by booting with the os X cd, and run disk utility to repair permission. However, this time, the hard drive doesnt even show up in disk utility when i boot from cd (although it does show up as one of the boot device when i press option after the power on sound).
I tried running the apple hardware test from the cd, both the quick and extended tests passed ok. Also tried resetting the PRAM with command-option-P-R
Then I tried running in single user mode, and the following is what i got on the screen,
standard timeslicing quantum 10000 us
