there's a question of whether or not your hard drive had os 9 drivers installed or not. i'm guessing not if you don't have an os 9 system folder or even classic support installed...
i want to start by saying that since i'm not familiar with your exact model...you do this at your own risk.
find out if your titanium is still in the range that can still boot into 9.2.2 (i have a ti 667 and it can). mine came with both os 9 and os x installed. if you have the original software restore cd's, see if they would install os 9. then i'd back up your important stuff and try to restore your system to it's original condition.
if you have access to another mac, startup your powerbook in target disk mode (hold down the 't' after startup). this turns your mac into an external firewire disk. use the other mac's disk utility to erase your powerbook (make sure the os 9 drivers box is checked - if this option isn't available you probably can't boot into os 9). see if you can put the os 9 cd in its drive. if so, then shut it down and restart holding down the 'c'.
now, if you can't or don't want to do any of this, you can just install classic support. use the panther software cd's to do it. you can't boot into 9 this way, but you can use your classic apps this way at least.
