So I'm trying to back up some data onto DVD in advance of Tiger arriving. I use Toast to burn a disc at 8x. It's going fine until my screensaver kicks in. When it came out of screen saver mode, I get a "buffer underrun" error message. Could it have been my screen saver that caused this error? Thanks!

It's possible; the default screensaver ("Flurry") is pretty CPU intensive.

yah. i don't do much of anything when i burn a dvd. I just wait till i can grab a fruit juice or something...

I also only burn on 2x just because all the times i ran into buffer underruns where when i tried to burn at 4 or 8x

That shouldn't happen. Don't most modern burners have underrun protection?

Hmm, in Toast, the Buffer Underrun Protection checkbox is grayed out. Any ideas?
