Tiger: Why does trackpad scrolling suck?

I have a 1.25 ghz AlBook, and I've enabled two-finger trackpad scrolling on it with the iScroll program. This worked superbly in Panther.
But now that I've just installed Tiger, I've noticed that even with the smooth scrolling option disabled in System Preferences, trackpad scrolling in Safari and some other applications is laggy and jumpy, as if the system is trying to use smooth scrolling. It's driving me batty! I want my old scrolling back!
Anybody else having this problem?

Nothing so severe.
I noticed that scrolling felt very different, but playing with the scrolling speed adjustments and disabling the 'Ignore accidental trackpad input' thing worked for me.
Oh, edit: I have native two-finger scrolling, I missed the iScroll bit.
