Hello y'all
I'm just wondering why the Apple Store isn't featuring all it's new products with Tiger preinstalled ? I'm looking to buy a new pbook (to upgrade from my old pismo) but the store still indicates Panther ? Why ? When ? Why not ? What the... ?
Thanks
Ray

I just bought a 15' @ compusa today. Apparently all exisitng stock was opened and a tiger upgrade disc was placed inside. I had to run the upgrade myself, but it came with the computer.
15" Macbook Pro 1.83 2 GB RAM
Blackbook 13.3 Powerhouse 2 GB RAM
MacMini Dual Core 2 GB RAM (Sadly running Windows Most of the time)
Numerouse Workstations running windows and Linux. Sorry don't have the specs, I don't pay much attention to them anymore. :)

Apple just listed PBs, as well as the rest of the new hardware, to come preinstalled with Tiger.

Of course, if the machine is from old stock, it will still merely have a Tiger upgrade disk.

Did you order it from Apple online store? And was that build-to-order?

Just a quick affirmation. I ordered a BTO 15" back in early March and have been annoyed at the delay, but this was eased by the preinstallation of Tiger on the unit, which shipped from China on Friday and arrived on Monday. No trackpad problems so far. I wonder if part of the delay was to get that fixed too. Lovely machine.
