Hi,

My boss just sent me his PowerBook G4 to use, but all that is in the box is the computer--nothing extra. His assistant shipped it in bubble wrap--tthat's all. No power supply, no disks, no manuals, nadda.

What else do I need to get it up and running? The last time he sent me his used computer he sent it in the original box with all the goodies.

I've been using my own ibook G4 and it's been great, so can anyone tell me what I'll gain with the Powerbook--of course, I've got the larger screen, but what else? Can I use the power supply that came with ibook to get the Powerbook turned on and charged?

Will be curious to hear what Powerbook users think.

Thanks,

Hamamac

Ok. It's a Powerbook G4, 15". It's silver with grey keys. On the bottom of it there's a Model No. M5884 and it also reads 2000 Apple Computer, Inc. Interestingly the battery has a date of 2002 on it.

I haven't turned it on yet because it didn't come with a power cord. Can I use the one that came with my ibook G4?

did you live by an apple store?

Scheduling an meeting with an apple genius would be a good thing.

I am unsure about the power adapters and really would not try becuase a few years ago i put the wrong adapter on a drill and it become so hot to the touch that i am sure it was about to explode.

and computers are more sensitve.
