I recently upgraded from a TiBook (with the older 1152x768 screen) to an AlBook and am finding that the new display, even though it looks much better, is harder on my eyes. I've had trouble with desktop LCD displays before, but my old TiBook display was always fine. I can't figure out if it's the brightness, or resolution, or color, or font smoothing, or what. Has anyone else had similar issues?

Have you calibrated the display?

Yes. I tried again and it seems slightly better -- smoothed fonts don't look quite so thin anymore -- but I don't know yet whether it's really better.
