I just burned a DVD with all of my pictures on it from my PC. The moment I opened it up in iPhoto to import the pictures from the DVD, my PB just crashed. I got this grey screen saying (in multiple languages) that I would have to restart. This occurs when I try to open up this DVD. Anyone know whats wrong?

I would recommend removing the 1GB stick and seeing if it still does it. Inexpensive (assumption) high-density memory chips tend to produce a fair amount of heat, and are generally less reliable than Apple (OEM Samsung) RAM.

What memory slot do you have that 1gb stick in? If it's the lower slot, then it's quite possible that the lower slot has failed. I just read a number of posts on a number of forums (including apple) about this.
Run the apple hardware test to see what the results are. It will most likely come up with an error similar to "0/2048 SODIMM0/ J 25 Lower found at startup." if it is the memory slot.
Remember to take that 3rd party ram out before sending it to apple.

the 1gb stick is on the top slot. i noticed that the pb would only crash when i tried importing the pictures to iphoto or if i tried to move the pictures to my desktop. i threw that dvd away, but hopefully the pb can read other dvds that i burn. havent had any panics since i threw that dvd away, so maybe it was just the dvd itself..

Kernel loadable modules in backtrace (with dependencies):
com.apple.filesystems.udf(1.4)@0x431000

if thats any help, there it is.

What utiility did you burn the broken dvd with? Looking at the kernel panic I can see UDF in it. I think that is the burning format used by toast and other roxio products (easy cd creator, windows xp built in burning tool), so it seems to be linked to the dvd If possible make sure it's burning iso 9006 (or similar - I can't remeber the numbers exactly). Try burn4free http://www.burn4free.com/ It's a free burner. It's free, but it was unstable on one of my systems (caused slowness and freezes) so use it at your own risk.
Or else hook up the pc and mac by ethernet! or bluetooth.
